Saneum Natural Recreation Forest is located in Danwol-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. It opened on January 1, 2000, with a total area of ​​2,140ha, a maximum capacity of 2,000 people per day, and an appropriate capacity of 1,500 people. Saneum, meaning ‘mountain shade,’ is a name given to the name because it is surrounded on all sides by peaks such as Poksan Mountain, Bongmisan Mountain, Sorisan Mountain, and Ssaribong Peak, and is always in the shade of a mountain. Saneum Recreational Forest has a well-maintained forest road of 40 km, a 28 km hiking trail, and a 5 km walking trail. Along the recreational forest valley, the forest ecosystem is comprised of a mixed primary forest with various tree species such as oak, dogwood, ash, cypress, pine, Actinidia, and azalea, as well as artificial forests such as larch, birch, and pine. Clear water and a variety of wild animals, including fireflies, black tits, nuthatch, chickadee, black titmouse, black woodpecker, wild boar, elk, and otter, show the beautiful sight of living in harmony with nature.
