On the slope of Sanbangsan Mountain, which is entirely made of cliffs, there is Sanbanggulsa Temple, one of Yeongju's 10 scenic spots. If the legend that the original summit of Hallasan Mountain was pulled out to become Sanbangsan Mountain and the site where it was pulled out became Baeknokdam is true, Sanbangsan Mountain, unlike other mountains in Jeju, has no craters and has no craters outside. The walls are spectacular due to erosion caused by weathering. Sanbangsan Mountain was created during the formation of Jeju Island and is 395m high. There is a cave on the southwestern cliff of Sanbangsan Mountain that is 10 meters long and 5 meters wide and high. In the middle of the ceiling, crystal-clear water drops fall like tears all year round and pool inside the cave. Hyeongjeseom Island, Gapado Island, visible through the old pine trees outside the cave, is the southernmost territory of Korea. The scenery of Marado and Yongmeori Coast is so beautiful that it has been used as a place for monks to retreat since ancient times. Dendrobium, centipede, and orchids grow naturally on the rock walls of Sanbangsan Mountain, and at the top, island boxwood, the only one in Jeju, grows naturally. The rock wall plant area of ​​Sanbangsan Mountain is designated as a natural monument.

* Yongmeori Coast

If you walk down the beach at the foot of Sanbangsan Mountain for about 10 minutes from the Sanbangsan Rest Area, you will come across a beautiful coastal view. As you walk along the cute tourist path while avoiding the constantly crashing waves, you will feel as if you are immersed in the blue of the Pacific Ocean and the spectacular coastal scenery. The name Yongmeori was given because the shape of the hill resembles a dragon raising its head and entering the sea. There is a 'Hamel Monument' at the entrance to Yongmeori, and it only takes about an hour to tour Yongmeori.
