Mireuksan Mountain (689m) in Gwirae-myeon, south of Wonju-si and bordering Sotae-myeon, Chungju-si, is a mountain reminiscent of an oriental painting with its oddly shaped rocks and old pine trees.

Mireuksan Mountain is famous for having a huge statue of Maitreya Buddha carved on its peak. As many as 12 beautiful rock peaks rise up like stone stones, creating a unique mountain landscape, and old pine trees clinging to the crevices of the rocks add to its exquisiteness. In winter, the old pine trees and snow flowers blooming on the rock walls are exquisite.

The mountain is not very high, but the smooth ridge path and cute rocky tomb path are in harmony, allowing you to feel the charm and charm of hiking. Looking northeast from Sinseondae, the summit, you can see Baekun Mountain and the Chiak Mountain Range, Sisipjabong Peak to the east, and the Namhangang River to the southwest. After passing the Maitreya Buddha statue under Sinseondae and walking down the eastern ridge for about 20 minutes, you will reach Hwangsansa Temple. It is an ancient temple founded during the reign of King Gyeongsun of Silla.
