Hyoseok Moonlight Hill opened on August 21, 2018, and restored the literary content and background of the novel ‘When the Buckwheat Flowers Bloom’, a masterpiece of Korean modern short literature, and created a new building based on Lee Hyo-seok’s hometown ‘Pyeongchang’, the space of his memories. An emotional literary space was created. It is differentiated from existing exhibition halls and museums by creating a space where people can see and physically experience Lee Hyo-seok's literature while walking through the excellent nature of Pyeongchang, where trees and wild flowers are in harmony.
The main facilities are based on historical research. The recreated birthplace where Lee Hyo-seok was born and raised, the modern time and space in which Lee Hyo-seok worked, the Modern Literature Experience Center that tells literature through stories, the Blue House that recreates the house where Lee Hyo-seok lived in Pyongyang, and the moonlight overlooking Hyo-seok Moonlight Hill at a glance. There is a Donkey Hall, a Donkey Square where you can relax with family, lovers, and friends, and a Dreaming Moon Café where you can enjoy reading with coffee.
In addition, there are sculptures of the Lover's Moon, a donkey, glasses, and a fountain pen. Buckwheat is planted here and there, so depending on when you visit, you can enjoy the buckwheat fields in full bloom.
