Chiaksan Natural Recreation Forest is located on National Highway No. 5 from Wonju to Jecheon, passing Geumdae Resort and climbing the ridge of Garipa Pass (commonly known as Chiakjae). It is built on an area of ​​178ha in Chalbangmakgol, which is located at the (former) Aesin Branch School, to the right of the site. The name of the recreation forest is Chiaksan Mountain, so most people think it is located at the foot of Chiaksan Mountain, but this place is buried in an unfamiliar valley called Chalbangmakgol on the side of Baekunsan Mountain (on the right side of the mountain in the direction toward Jecheon). Around the recreation forest, strangely shaped rocks such as Chilseong Rock, Turtle Rock, and Lightning Rock are lined up on the ridge, and if you climb along the trail, it is located in a place with a great view where you can see the Chiaksan Mountain range from Namdaebong nearby to Birobong in the distance.

If you take the right path here, you will go to a log cabin next to the valley, and if you take the left path, you can go to the log cabin, the main plaza, and the red clay room. There are 17 log cabins in total. The log cabin located low along the valley is a place of relaxation where you can enjoy the harmony of trees and water. Each log cabin comes in a variety of sizes, from 5 pyeong to 10 pyeong, so you can use it effectively depending on the size of your group. The Red Clay Room is comprised of a total of 8 rooms in 2 buildings, and is designed and built to suit the tastes of families or people in their 40s or older, so you can enjoy the small and quiet atmosphere of a mountain temple. In addition, there are auxiliary facilities such as walking trails, a fitness center, a children's playground, a playground, and an observatory, and cooking facilities are also well-equipped to ensure convenient use.
