It is a 1,004m high hill located on the border of Seomyeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, and Buk-myeon and Girin-myeon, Inje-gun. The hill on the border between Inner Seorak and South Seorak is called Osaekryeong in Yangyang and Hangyeryeong in Inje. Lee Jung-hwan, a Silhak scholar in the late Joseon Dynasty, selected six famous hills in Gangwon-do in , and called Osaeknyeong the best among them. Osaeknyeong has long been a hill that transported daily necessities from Yangyang (Yeongdong) to Inje (Yeongseo), and was a rough mountain road that the people of Yangyang had to cross on their way to Seoul. The joys and sorrows of people on the road are expressed in the popular song , which is about the five colors of spirits. In 1981, road expansion work was completed and the Hangyeryeong Road connecting Yangyang and Inje was opened. Today, Osaeknyeong Pass on National Route 44 is the best driving course in Gangwon-do and a tourist attraction where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Seoraksan Mountain. This is where the shortest course to Daecheongbong, the highest peak of Seoraksan Mountain, begins, and the hiking trail to the top of Jeombongsan Mountain also begins here.
