천관산 억새축제는 9월 중순부터 10월 중순 사이에 햇빛을 받아 들판이 하얗거나 회색으로 변하는 기간에 열린다. 하루 중 억새밭의 아름다움을 감상하기에 가장 좋은 시간은 오전 9시 이전과 오후 5시 이후입니다. 천관산에서 바람에 흔들리는 억새파도가 장관이다.
