高敞墨陽城節自1973年開始舉辦，旨在激發人們對建造城牆的先輩們的敬仰，發展地方文化，增強高敞居民的熱愛和自豪感。主要活動包括慶祝和紀念儀式，其他活動包括板索里表演、農樂、民間遊戲和射箭等。許多人參加打城道活動，參加者將一塊石頭頂在頭上，繞城三圈。據說這樣做可以治癒所有疾病，使人健康長壽，並可以進入天堂。
