기지시줄다리기민속축제는 500년 전통의 민속풍속을 알리는 것을 목표로 한다. 줄다리기는 새해의 평안과 행운을 기원하고, 이웃과의 화합을 기원하는 마을 잔치의 일환으로 시작된 줄다리기이다.
