芳泰山位於江原道麟蹄郡和洪川郡的交界處。其山脊長、谷深，使山顯得格外美麗。由於地處交通不便，山上的自然元素保持原始狀態。水從竹巨峰（海拔1,443公尺）和九龍德峰（海拔1,338公尺）流經阿金加里谷和赤加里谷。
山上生活著各種各樣的物種，如細魚、鯰魚、野豬、野兔、狍子和松鼠。山的最高峰竹極峰西南是蓋因礦泉，以其辛辣的味道和碳酸水而聞名。 夏季涼爽，秋季紅葉絢麗，防太山是欣賞韓國自然美景的絕佳場所。防太山休養林也提供遊客住宿。 |
