부근리 고인돌은 청동기시대 장례풍속을 대표하는 역사적 가치로 사적 제137호로 지정된 강화도 고인돌 유적이다. 무덤을 만든 몸돌은 길이 710cm, 너비 550cm, 높이 260cm이다. 고인돌은 북부 고인돌 풍습의 대표적인 예로서 고대사 분야의 향후 연구 주제가 되고 있다. 부근리 고인돌은 다른 중요한 고인돌 유적과 함께 유네스코 세계문화유산으로 등록되어 있다.
