平江植物園位於山井湖水入口處，於 2006 年 5 月開放，並於 2009 年被環境部指定為保護棲息地。此外，花園內還收藏了 1,000 多種不同的高山植物，這些植物通常生長在海拔 2,500 公尺的地方。
花園範圍很全面，但分為12個主題區，包括岩石花園，集中了亞洲最大的高山植物；模仿濕地自然生態的濕地中心；池塘花園，由大約 50 個池塘組成，兩旁開滿了絢麗的花朵；苔蘚中心，可以看到生長在深谷和森林中的苔蘚；還有一個草地廣場，全年都是綠色公共空間。平江植物園在保護稀有植物方面發揮著重要作用，同時也在創造新的植物園文化，並作為公共生態教育的中心。 |
