서울창포원은 서울 북부 도봉산과 수락산 사이에 위치해 있습니다. 52,417㎡ 규모의 정원에는 붓꽃원, 약용식물원, 습지공원 등 12개 테마존에 다양한 붓꽃과 식물을 자랑한다. 창포원에는 15,000㎡의 부지에 130종, 30만 송이의 붓꽃이 전시되어 있습니다. 종으로는 노랑붓꽃(Yellow Iris), 붓꽃세토사(Iris setosa), 붓꽃팔라시(Iris pallasii), 붓꽃붓꽃(Iris Domestica) 등이 있으며, 각각 화려한 색상과 섬세한 모양을 자랑합니다. 약용식물원에는 70종, 13만여 그루의 약초가 자라고 있어 국내 최대 규모의 약초를 관람할 수 있다. 습지공원에는 70,000여종의 습지식물이 전시되어 있으며 방문객들이 다양한 수생식물을 보고 배울 수 있는 전망대도 마련되어 있습니다. 정원 내에 있는 천이전망대는 방문객들에게 위에서 내려다보는 아름다운 풍경을 감상할 수 있는 장소를 제공합니다. 인근 숲속라운지는 방문객들의 휴식공간이자 공원 생태교육 프로그램의 운영 중심지이기도 하다. 붓꽃은 매년 5월부터 6월까지 꽃이 피지만, 잎의 섬세한 모양 때문에 따뜻한 나머지 계절에도 볼 수 있습니다.
