천문대는 3m 원형 돔과 슬라이딩 돔뿐만 아니라 반사굴절 망원경 등 우주 관측을 위한 주요 장비도 갖추고 있다. 정규 교육 프로그램은 학교 여름방학 동안 천문학 개념을 비교적 간단한 용어로 설명하고 각 별자리 뒤에 숨겨진 민담을 어린이들에게 소개하는 데 도움이 됩니다.
이 밖에도 '아빠와 함께하는 우주여행', '주말 가족 팸투어' 등의 프로그램도 마련돼 있다. '아빠와 우주여행'(매일 21시~24시)에서는 망원경 조작 방법과 우주 속 천체 관찰 방법을 배울 수 있다. '주말 가족 팸투어' 프로그램은 오전 10시부터 24시까지 진행된다. 주말 17시에는 천문학 단편영화를 상영하고 망원경과 점성술 장비를 살펴볼 수 있는 프로그램이 서울과 일산 지역의 초등학생과 중학생들에게 인기가 높습니다. |
