高敞邑城城壁都市は、朝鮮端宗の治世中の 1453 年に外国の侵略者から都市を守るために建設されました。壁は地元の民間人によって、利用可能な天然資源を利用して建設されました。莫陽城とも呼ばれるこの城壁都市は、南部地域を守る重要な役割を果たし、1965 年 4 月 1 日に史跡第 145 号に指定されました。城壁は高さ 4 ～ 6 メートル、長さ 1,684 メートルで、城壁には 3 つの門があります。北、東、西の壁はそれぞれ湾曲した壁で守られています。広い敷地内には22の政府庁舎があった。壁の修復作業は 1976 年から続いています。
