高句麗や新羅とは異なり、百済の仏教の起源とその広がりは、インドの僧ミラナンタが霊光に来て仏甲寺を建立した経緯以外には謎のままだった。 1998年、ミラナンタ僧侶が中国の東津を経て、西暦384年に霊光市法城面のチャウドゥ村に初めて足を踏み入れたという記録が発見された。その後、この場所は僧侶と仏教の普及を讃える名所になりました。
