야생동물이 무성한 봉곡사는 송악면 남단 봉수산 북동쪽 계곡 옆에 자리잡고 있다. 대응전과 향각전은 모두 동쪽을 향하고 있고, 북쪽에는 큰 요사체(스님들의 거주지)가 자리잡고 있다. 거주지 뒤에는 화장실과 창고를 위한 공간이 마련되어 있습니다. 그리고 사찰 남쪽의 봉분 꼭대기에는 삼성각(세 명의 성인을 모시는 건물)이 자리잡고 있습니다. 삼성악은 최근에 창건되었으나 1891년 서봉스님이 발굴한 복원기록에 대웅전과 요사체가 모두 확인되어 있다. 1895년 7월의 선(禪) 시.
