社稷公園位於社稷壇的舊址，社稷壇是三國時代祈求和平與繁榮的祭祀場所。 20 世紀 60 年代，這裡是社稷動物園的所在地，儀式於 1894 年被廢棄，祭壇年久失修。然而，1991年，動物園決定搬遷到另一個地點，並開始恢復原址。 1994 年 4 月，距離上次儀式 100 年後，它重新開放。
社稷公園內有各種樹木和花壇。每年四月中旬，公園裡都會盛開粉紅色和白色的櫻花。在此期間，光州市政府會在樹上安裝照明燈，以便市民在深夜欣賞花朵。公園已成為光州市民最喜歡的休息場所。園區內有多個景點，包括光州廣播站 (KBS)、警察紀念塔、楊坡亭和俯瞰光州市中心的八角亭。 |
