李章宇故居於1989年3月20日被指定為第一個光州民俗資料，是一座高級瓦頂房屋，有大門、儲藏室、傭人宿舍、別館和主樓。該建築估計建於 1899 年，總體上是韓國建築的堅固典範，完好地保存了其原始狀態。這棟歷史建築的L形主廳相當大，從左到右依序是一個木製陽台、一個小房間、一個大廳、一個正房、一個廚房和另一個小房間。房間的門是雙開門，裡面是拉門，外面是鉸鏈門。大廳還設有可根據需要懸掛的隔間。
