百潭寺位于雪岳山内，是新罗第 28 代统治者真德王后（647-654）统治时期由僧人紫藏（590~658）建造的。该寺曾被焚毁，并数次迁移，直至1957年才重建至现址。寺内珍藏有各种宝物和庵堂。许多名人都曾参观过这座寺庙，其中包括坚强的独立活动家和诗人万海韩龙云 (Manhae Han Yong-un)。寺前溪边有无数石塔，游人前来堆石祈福。
