왜가리의 번식지는 충청북도 진천 노곡마을 뒤편에 있다. 수령 1000년 은행나무 위에 둥지를 틀고 있는 철새들. 그러나 시간이 지나면서 새의 배설물로 인해 나무가 부패하기 시작하면서 새의 주요 둥지도 사라지게 되었습니다. 그 후 새들은 주변 수풀과 숲에 정착하기 시작했습니다. 서식지를 보전하고 왜가리의 번식을 촉진하기 위해 천연기념물로 지정되었습니다.
