別麻路は寧越市の鳳来山(標高799.8m)の頂上に建てられた公立天文台です。 「ビョルマロ」という用語は、ビョル（星）、マ（峰）、ロ（平和）という言葉を組み合わせた言葉です。これらは共に、清潔で平和な環境で星を観察したいという願いを集合的に表しています。天文台には直径80センチの望遠鏡をはじめ、さまざまな望遠鏡が設置されています。天文台には宿泊施設や視聴覚室、講堂も備えており、教育プログラムにも適しています。
