雪岳山の中にある白潭寺は、新羅第 28 代統治者真徳女王 (647 ～ 654 年) の時代に張子禅師 (590 ～ 658 年) によって建立されました。寺院は焼失と移転を繰り返し、1957 年に現在の場所に再建されました。境内には様々な宝物や庵がある。強力な独立活動家で詩人のマンヘ・ハン・ヨンウンをはじめ、多くの著名人がこの寺院を訪れました。寺の前の小川沿いには無数の石塔があり、参拝者が願いを込めて石を積み上げます。
