This is the house where Gosan Yun Seon-do lived. It is a building built in the mid-15th century by Hyo-jeong (1476-1543), Yun Seon-do's 4th-great-grandfather, when she settled in Yeondong. It is located in a famous spot with Deogumsan Mountain behind the house site, Byeokrubong Peak in front, and Pilbong Peak to its right.
When you enter the gate, you are immediately in the Sarang Madang. There is a Sarangchae in the front and a small pond in the southwest corner of the wall. The Sarangchae was a house in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, given by Hyojong to Yun Seon-do, and was moved here in the 9th year of King Hyeonjong's reign (1668). When you enter the eastern gate behind the sarangchae, the main house is located in a ‘ㄷ’ shape. There is one shrine inside the eastern wall behind the main building, and there are Gosan Shrine and Eochoeun Shrine outside the wall.
At the entrance, a ginkgo tree planted at the time symbolizes Nokwudang, and on the mountain behind is a 500-year-old nutmeg tree forest (a natural monument). Designated cultural assets such as the Portrait of Yoon Du (national treasure), 『Sanjungsingok Collection』 (treasure), and 『Fisherman's History Collection』 and over 3,000 relics are stored here.
Nokwudang's main and sarangchae are structured in a 'ㅁ' shape and are equipped with a haengnangchae, which clearly represents the style of upper-class housing during the Joseon Dynasty.
