This area was formed when the Sogang River, which was in a submerged valley, changed its flow path due to lateral erosion of the river near Cheongnyeongpo. This area is academically important because the old river island, meander core, and point bar, which are currently used for rice farming, are well preserved in the lowlands around Bangjeol-ri, where the Sogang bypassed in the past. In addition, karst landforms developing in the limestone area nearby and the Bangjeol-ri river terrace located on the old channel are developed. Cheongnyeongpo is an island-like place surrounded by rivers on three sides and with rugged rock walls on the west, and is famous as the place of exile for King Danjong. The Danjong Cultural Festival is held every April, allowing you to experience Danjong's exile route starting from Cheongnyeongpo.
