This is a Bodhisattva statue enshrined at Woljeongsa Temple, founded by Master Jajang in the 12th year of Queen Seondeok of Silla (643), and is a work of art depicting Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, who is meant to save all living beings with mercy in this world. It is called the Six-Armed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva because it has six hands, three each on the left and right shoulders, and is cast in gilt bronze. On her head, she wore a three-sided wreath with floral patterns and flame-shaped beads engraved on it. Two braid-like strands of hair hung over both shoulders, and a long beaded necklace appeared on her exposed chest. There are elaborate bracelets on each of the six wrists.
The upper body is covered with a naked body or cloth, and a robe is hung from the neck and chest. The Buddha statue has three arms extending from each shoulder, creating six hands, and each hand is decorated with elaborate bracelets.
The body of the Buddha is thin and the lower body is obese compared to the upper body, so the knees are wide and the expression of the folds of the clothes covering the knees is crude and formal. The pedestal placed under the knees in cross-legged position is oval-shaped, following the outline of the Buddha's body. The upper part is decorated with a single lotus flower, and the lower part is decorated with a double lotus flower. It was connected to 伏蓮). There is a performance text at the top and bottom ends.
Although the Buddhist statue is thin and the casting method of the Buddha statue cannot be considered excellent, it can be said to be a masterpiece from the Joseon Dynasty in that it has a beauty of balance overall and there are no awkward features despite the six protruding hands.
