The best of the Donggang River's secret scenic spots, Eorayeon area * Eorayeon Valley is the most well-known of the many secret scenic spots of the Donggang River. Eorayeon means “a pond where fish float like silk.” Eorayeon, located about 12km above the Donggang River flowing east of Yeongwol, is the most beautiful and mysterious valley in Yeongwol. If you walk along the river from Geounri ferry, you will come across Eorayeon, where the water stream divides. Old pine trees rooted between the cliffs of Cheongil on both banks add to the charm. Eorayeon is also called Samseonam, and it is said that it was also called Jeongjaam because it was a place where ancestors used to come down and play. Three cows are formed in the upper, middle, and lower parts of the river, and in the center of the cows, a bedrock rises from the water, and Oksunbong Peak and strangely shaped rocks stand in a row. It looks like a person, a Buddha statue, or even an animal, so every time I look at it, I see it. The shape creates something new.
