It is a waterfall about 50 meters high at the foot of Bonghwasan Mountain in Chuncheon and is one of the representative tourist attractions in the Gangchon region. Because it is a waterfall that falls around nine bends, it was named Gugok Falls and is also called Guguri Falls. The waterfall flowing down the strangely shaped rocks creates a spectacular sight. In the summer, cool streams of water wash away the heat, and in the winter, huge ice walls provide a magnificent sight. In winter, people gather here to enjoy ice climbing. The road from the ticket office to Gugok Falls is gentle and takes about 20 minutes on foot. It is a comfortable walking course that blends forests and valleys. It is fun to walk while looking for the nine wooden boards containing the nine ‘Gugok souls’ expressed by the double letter (ㄲ), such as dreams, talent, cunning, and ability, one by one. If you go up for about 40 minutes along the kkalttak hill to the right from the entrance to Gugok Falls, Munbae Village, located in the basin, appears. The wild vegetable bibimbap and local liquor you taste here after hiking are delicious. You can also rest comfortably for a night at the national leisure camping site built within the Gugok Falls tourist site.
