It is a recreational forest located at the foot of Guryongnyeong between Yangyang-gun and Hongcheon-gun in Gangwon-do, and is created along Micheonggol Valley. Micheonggol Valley, which is about 12km long, flows creating large and small waterfalls throughout the recreation forest. A variety of tree species grow on both sides of the main valley, including birch, ash, ash, and dogwood. In addition to lodging facilities such as the Forest Culture Recreation Center, campsite, and auto camping site, the recreation forest is home to Seolnim Garden, a relic from the Silla period, where you can experience not only the ecology but also tour historical sites. Seonlimwon is a training center for Zen monks built during the Unified Silla period, and the three-story stone pagoda of Yangyang Seollimwonji, which has been designated as a treasure, remains. The recreational forest operates a variety of forest experience programs. Examples include ‘Forest Education and Forest Interpretation’, which allows you to observe the natural ecology while walking in the forest, and ‘Visiting Trails’, which provides opportunities for the underprivileged to communicate with nature. There is a 6.2km round-trip hiking trail within the recreational forest, and a 12km round-trip forest road from Forest House District 3 to Bulbaragi Mineral Spring, so you can enjoy trekking as well as forest bathing.
