首尔综合体育场位于蚕室洞，于 1976 年 12 月竣工。首尔综合体育场的核心部分是首尔奥林匹克体育场（又称蚕室综合运动场），周围环绕着运动员住宅区、蚕室公寓大楼、汉江。，和潭川溪位于体育场东南3.5公里处该综合体通过一条通道与首尔地铁 2 号线和 9 号线的体育中心站相连，方便公众前往该综合体，还设有棒球场、两个游泳中心、一个室内运动设施、一个辅助田径场、大型公园经常作为户外宴会和活动的场所。除了定期举办的体育赛事外，首尔奥林匹克体育场还举办过一些全球最大的体育赛事，包括第十届亚运会和首尔奥运会，自然也因其重要意义而吸引了数百万游客。
