Description of art	“Brawny Man” (1988) features a single man set against a dark background. He has a rough-looking, distorted face as he holds a broken tool with both hands. Judging from his white beard and the tool in his hands, the image may be the face of an elder as well as that of a laborer at the same time, one of Kwun’s recurring subjects. The bulging pectoral muscles and strong fist lend an air of dynamism to the painting while at the same time representing the unyielding spirit and tenacity of a laborer.
