Description of art	“By Numbers Series: SeMA 2000?2014” (2014) is a painting version of his installation “By Numbers series: SeMA 2000?2011,” exhibited at “SeMA Youth 2012: 12 Events for 12 Rooms” organized by the museum with 12 young artists. Back then, Moon filled the walls of the 1,872 ft2 exhibition room assigned to him with diagonal lines of 10 colors, which had most frequently appeared in the 55 catalogues published by SeMA from 2000 to 2011. In the painting version “By Numbers series: SeMA 2000?2014,” he extended the period to 2014, and scanned the museum’s books to find out the most frequently used 10 words and 10 colors, and paint the colors according to the frequency of the word assigned to it. At first glance, this work strikes one as a color field painting, but it is based on the mathematical statistics of the gallery’s exhibition records, not on Moon’s subjective intention, thereby tearing down our general belief in artists’ genius and art itself.
