白馬高地戰場位於南韓北部地區，是韓戰期間最血腥的戰場之一。 1952年10月6日，中國共產黨軍隊在白馬高地戰役（可譯為白馬高地戰役）中發動了為期10天的重大攻擊。此戰，中共軍隊傷亡約14000人，軍隊徹底崩潰，而步兵第9師則贏得了白馬高支戰役的勝利，並獲得了“白馬”的綽號。
戰鬥結束後，周圍到處都是屍體，散發著惡臭。由於激烈的戰鬥，山區失去了原有的形狀，因此該地區被命名為“Baengmagoji”，因為據說它像一匹躺著的白馬（baengma）。 |
