橫城自然休養林位於赤谷谷，曾是新羅王室的休閒勝地。現存新羅時代建築風格的三層塔、三韓時代的祭壇以及石碑、宮殿遺址、南國風格支石墓等歷史遺跡。森林內還設有多條健行步道，設有休息區和礦泉水，以及各種便利、娛樂和住宿設施。
