東郭寺位於全州升岩山，是太古宗的佛教寺廟。徒步前往洞古寺是一次令人耳目一新的攀登，從寺廟中可以欣賞到全州市中心的壯麗全景。寺廟建築依山脊而建，鱗次櫛比地排列在大雄殿兩側。寺廟樸實而優雅，裝飾有已故佛教高僧的肖像和木製佛教壁畫。東郭寺右側的登山步道通往致明子山烈士陵園，這是朝鮮末期受迫害的天主教徒的墓地。
