位於曾島的新安海洋考古紀念碑是在發現古代文物後建立的。出土文物超過 28,000 件，主要在獨德島附近發現，其中包括宋元時期的寶物。 1975年首次發現後，越來越多的發掘成果被報道出來，揭示了600年的歷史，讓人們一睹韓中兩國過去在政府間和貿易合作方面的顯著發展，喚醒了兩國數百萬歷史學家。
