鷺得島最初被稱為中地島，直到 20 世紀 50 年代，它是一個用於娛樂目的的沙質平原，直到 60 年代和 70 年代漢江地區經歷了開發。這些沙子被用來建造一個看起來像漂浮在漢江中央的島嶼。鷺得島在接下來的 50 年裡一直被廢棄，直到 2005 年首爾市政府購買了該島。經過一系列的規劃和改變，該島於 2019 年作為休閒區向公眾開放，同時保留了大部分原始形態。鷺得島的主要景點包括現場表演室、書店、音樂休息室、花園等，是公眾的文化娛樂場所。
