大升寺位於四佛山，是一座美麗的建築，歷史悠久。寺廟所在的山最初被稱為孔德山，但後來被稱為四佛山。 「四佛山」這個名字來自新羅時期的傳說，當時一塊覆蓋著紅色絲綢、刻有佛像四面的大石頭神秘地降落在山上。當時的國王（真平王）得知這一奇蹟的消息後，立即前往現場，並在聖石旁建造了寺廟。
寺廟在 1922 年夏天被大火部分燒毀，但在僧侶 Uiun、Chwiwol 和 Deoksan 的努力下於 1927 年得以修復。 1958年1月，寺廟再次遭受火災，僅留下少數建築（極樂殿、明府殿、山神閣）完好無損。僧侶大休、雪月和正岩幫助修復了寺廟，從此寺廟保存完好。 |
