甲寺位於雞龍山森林密佈的山麓，距離公州 19 公里，距離東鶴寺 3 小時步行路程。秋天時，寺廟被深紅色的樹葉包圍，是最美麗的。甲寺寺是由僧侶阿多和尚於 420 年（百濟初期）創建的。這座寺廟的美麗使它多次逃脫了破壞，但最終在臨津戰爭（1592-1598）期間被燒毀。現在的建築建於 1604 年。
