寶石寺位於距錦山邑約六公里的進嶽山（732公尺）東南坡，是新羅興康王12年（866年）由高僧祖求大寺創建的。寺院的名字「寶石寺」（「boseok」意為「珠寶」）源自寺院內的佛像，該佛像是用在寺院對面的山上發現的黃金鑄造而成的。
寺廟由大殿、義聖閣、山神閣組成。寺廟附近有 12 個令人驚嘆的瀑布。遊客還可以觀賞一棵1100年歷史的銀杏樹，或是沿著300公尺長的杉樹路漫步。 |
