豐南門建於 1734 年朝鮮王朝時期，被指定為國寶。風南門是全州四個城門中最南端的城門。 1767年，該建築因火災而嚴重受損，隨後門樓得到修復。臨津戰爭期間，該門再次被燒毀，並修復成今天所見的門。
