1839年的吉海迫害期間，三名法國天主教神父因在韓國傳播天主教而被判死刑。聖洛朗·約瑟夫·馬呂斯·英伯特（主教）、聖皮埃爾·菲利貝爾·莫班特（牧師）和聖雅克·奧諾雷·查斯坦（牧師）於1839 年9 月21 日在新南特奧（現稱為新南特天主教烈士聖地）被斬首，他們的屍體葬於三聖山，後移葬明洞聖堂石窟。
