江原道植物园由江原道政府运营，于 1999 年开放，旨在为社区提供休养林，让他们在城市中心放松身心并了解自然。拥有四季植物园、亚热带植物园、多肉植物园、绿色植物园等约30个主题园，拥有植物约1800种。游客可以欣赏到各种时令花卉、异国风光、有趣景点。此外，春季游客还可以在樱花步道和杜鹃园赏花；夏季喷泉广场和水杉林内避免高温；赏秋菊花展；冬天在玻璃温室里躲避寒冷。植物园内设有森林博物馆，由以江原道森林为主题，包括动物、植物、山村生活等的常设展厅、特别展厅、4D影院等组成。其他迷人的地方包括植物园，由与池塘、人工瀑布和凉亭和谐相处的水生植物园组成，以及作为儿童自然游乐场的儿童花园。
