金宁沙窟位于济州岛东北部的万丈窟附近。洞穴的名字“Sagul”来自洞穴的蛇形结构（“sa”意思是蛇）。洞口很宽，就像一条张开嘴的蛇，但一旦进去，隧道就变窄了，就像蛇的身体一样。金宁沙窟是高度受保护的地区，与万丈窟一起被指定为天然纪念物。
