山房山是大约70万至80万年前剧烈火山活动的结果，实际上是一个巨大的熔岩体。熔岩穹丘南侧的悬崖上布满了风化坑、碎石坡等各种奇特的地貌，有些高达200米。正如其名“山房”，字面意思是“山中的洞穴”，这座山上有一个洞穴，海拔约150米，可以看到壮丽的海景。由于靠近大海，海拔较高，峰顶常被云雾缭绕。山的上坡有其独特的气候条件，并因其对植物研究的价值而受到保护。
山房寺和供奉佛舍利的普门寺均位于山上。沿着两座寺庙之间的石阶行走，就会看到山房窟寺。山前的路边矗立着一座韩语称为“Yeondae”的信号灯，过去曾用火和烟来传递紧急信息。从功能上看，它与更为人熟知的“峰水台”信号灯类似；但“莲台”信标建在丘陵或沿海地区，而“峰水台”信标则建在山顶。白天用烟雾来发出警告信号，晚上用火来发出警告。 *x_海拔高度: 395.2m/ x_海拔高度: 345m/ 周长: 3,780m / 面积: 988,332㎡/ 直径 1,314m |
