芳茗洞古墓群是1975年蚕室地区土地整理工程中发现的。到1976年为止，共发掘了8座古墓群，1983年恢复为公园。原为海拔30-50m的低山丘陵，后因城市发展而辟为平地。 1号至6号墓位于同一座山上，1号墓位于同一座山上。 7 号和 8 号位于不远处的另一座山上。
八座墓葬均为圆形坟包。墓室内为土质、石墙的方形或长方形墓室，墓口有通向墓室的通道。然而，墓室的细节因墓而异。调查前墓葬大部分已被盗，但有少量盘、罐等遗物被发掘。发掘时，推测这些文物来自百济王朝（公元前18年至公元660年），但现在估计它们的历史可以追溯到统一新罗时期（公元676年至935年）。 |
