月尾岛尽管是 1653 年孝宗统治时期建造的行宫所在地，但历史记录却很少。这座宫殿建在岛的东侧，但现在已经找不到它的踪迹了。从20世纪20年代末到30年代，该岛被改造成一个度假村，是当时非常受欢迎的目的地。月尾文化街于 1989 年 7 月开业，提高了该地区的知名度。
