五同岛是闲丽海上国立公园的基点，以岛上的山茶花群而闻名。除山茶花外，还有70种野花和200种常绿树木在这里繁衍生息。众所周知，三月中旬山茶花开得最盛时，岛上景色最为美丽。从丽水市中心开车约10分钟即可到达该岛。其他选择包括冬柏火车、渡轮或摩托艇。
