据了解，波大岛是由密阳朴氏家族的朴行绪从大黑山岛迁出后首先定居的。该岛因是三座岛屿中最南端的岛屿而得名，该岛出产丰富的食用海藻。除了附近水域栖息的各种鱼类吸引了众多渔民外，该岛还以盛产紫菜等食用海藻而闻名。尽管大多数岛民以渔业为生，但也经常可以看到黑山羊在绿色的牧场上吃草。波多户岛的海滩只有 300 米长，但却拥有原始的美丽。
