海印寺是韩国三大寺庙之一，于爱藏王三年（802年）由纯宁和如正两位僧侣创建。 “海印”这个名字源自“华严经海印寺”（佛经），意思是真正觉悟的佛世界和我们本然无染的心。海印寺除了高丽大藏经木版印刷和藏经板殿（国宝）外，还供奉着各种宝物。
